Art Smith is a great example of hard work. After two internships
at The Greenbrier Resort he was picked to attend the well-known
Walt Disney Magic Kingdom College Program. With all his
new knowledge he continued his hard work and found himself
working for politicians and other celebrities. In 1997 he
became Oprah's personal chef, which soon led to his contributions
to O, The Oprah Magazine and O at Home. Art has also won
many prestigious awards for his cookbooks and has been recognized
for his wonderful involvement in his non-profit organization
called "Common Threads." Its main goal is to bring
back the feeling of family around the table (family along
with friends) regardless of ethnicity, religion, wealth,
or geographic location.
